- (c. 1530-95)Portuguese poet. He lived in Italy and Turkey. In collaboration with Lazzaro di Granziano Levi, he wrote the earliest known Jewish drama in the vernacular, a Purim play in Spanish. He also published a Spanish translation of the final part of Petrarch's sonnets. In Constantinople he engaged in Hebrew printing.
